State of Young Child in India Report

✓ Vice President Venkaiah Naidu released the “State of Young Child in India” report.
✓ The report was prepared by the Mobile Creches, a policy advocacy organization.
✓The report measured Health and Nutrition in the country.

✓Indices of the Report
The report framed in two indices

✓Young Child Outcome Index measures health, cognitive growth and nutrition.
✓The index measures child outcomes based on stunting, infant mortality rate and net attendance in primary school. ✓The Young Child Environment Index helps to understand policy and environment enablers that influence a child wellbeing.
✓The policy and environment enabler used in framing the index are poverty alleviation, education, strengthening primary health care, safe water supply and promotion of gender equity.
